Robert K. Greenleaf – Servant Leadership – Chapter: Servant Responsibility In A Bureaucratic Society pg. 318 25th anniversary edition
Saturday, I spoke with many people from Somersett, Sutro, Keystone and W. 7th st. There was one prevailing concept that kept coming up, that no book wants to be judged by its cover, but by its core and character. It is time to read the book and treat one another with dignity, respect, honor and love. There is much contained in the chrysalis. We need to listen to our parents and educators, we need to know our students! This idea resounds in the hearts of our community. Opportunity is for all students! Let’s WIN!!! Together we prepare kids for life.
We will be out in a community near you, look for us.
“The servant-leader is servant first… It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first.” -Robert K. Greenleaf
Servant leadership is a philosophy and set of practices that enriches the lives of individuals, builds better organizations and ultimately creates a more just and caring world.
Tonight I had the pleasure to meet with the folks of WEA/WESP. They had some great questions. I talked about strategy to curb student to student and student to teacher abuse and remove inequitable burdens on teachers. I mentioned the inequality of the weighted funding to the students outside of the margin, how profoundly gifted and learning disabled are provided more funding while the bulk are marginalized. I explained some of my vision and how innovation further finds schools funding. I provided my thoughts on stewardship of resources. I talked about listening to the educator (specifically through the pandemic) and if we don’t we fail them.
